BYUH Music Tour 2020
Destination: Maui, Hawaii, USA
I was assigned the task to create the BYUH Music Tour campaign for 2020. I had the opportunity to brainstorm a design direction, and to meet directly with the music and tour directors to discuss and confirm it. I was trusted to plan and direct a photoshoot, and ultimately, create and send to production all the digital, print and merchandise items for the project.

Since BYUH's Street Band & Salsa Orchestra were going on the music tour this year, I wanted to combine a Latin and Mardi Gras vibe to the theme; I chose to do this by using bright colors that would be reminiscent of the energetic and vibrant colors we see in many parts of Latin America, while also using prominent Mardi Gras colors in the palette, (i.e., purple, green & yellow.) I also chose to make the yellow that I used BYUH's official secondary yellow tone and included some of the school's primary crimson color scattered in the designs to also have a subtle tie to the university's official brand colors. I also intentionally designed the style to have a lot of movement and energy though lines, shapes and photos to help mirror the feeling these music styles emanate to listeners.

Finally, since the tour would be on the island of Maui, I wanted to include a tropical appearance. Thus, I created custom vector illustrations of plants native to the lush islands of Hawaii, and placed them prominently throughout the designs. Unfortunately, due to the outbreak of COVID-19, the trip had to be cancelled the 1st day of their trip. Nonetheless, most of the materials did get to serve their purpose, and the student performers were each able to keep one of the custom t-shirts.
